Copy Cat?

Instead of posting about who I thought was best dressed and who failed miserably at the Oscars, I have decided to post about a dress I had found earlier today online. Recognize It?

No? How about this one?

The first is vintage Christian Dior from his fall 1949 collection, you can find it in The Met archives. The second was worn by Miley Cyrus at Sundays Oscars, her dress was by Zuhair Murhad.  Am I the only one who finds them eerily familiar?

Every Picture Tells A Story

I received a Holga camera for christmas a couple of years ago and am in love with it. I have yet to master it, if you can even master the art of the Holga, but I'm trying. I have about 3 roles of film that I need to get developed, but here are some pictures I took when I first received the camera and was living in Philly. You can purchase the camera on urbanoutfitters.com if you too are a budding photographer.

The Newest Music It Girl

I'm in love with swedish musician Lykke Li at the moment.  A few of you may have heard her songs but may not of known who they were by...until now.  If you are interested in hearing more, and I know you are, make sure to check out her myspace.

Here is her version of "Knocked Up" originally by Kings of Leon:

Her most famous song "I'm Good, I'm Gone":

And finally one of my personal favorites "Tonight":

Oh bop, fashion It's loud and tasteless and I've heard it before

A couple days and a few shows (many shows) later, it seems like I am finally figuring out what is going on with Fall fashion.  I had made the joke about having to spend next winter actually dressing for me and well I think that's what will be happening.  I have found a few common trends: cutouts, sheerness/mesh, the potato sack shape, prints, shimmer, gold and BLACK. Is it just me or does it seem like you will have the option to be yourself, a hobo or an an elite member of society this Fall? I thought we elected Obama? I'm so confused.  Whatever the case make sure to look out for me next Fall/Winter in my jeans or black college sweats, patterned t-shirt with holes err I mean cutouts, my coat made out an actual potato sack and glitter, and of course my Uggs from 5  years ago. Stylish. Yes? No? Maybe?
