Paper or Plastic?

So I'm back from vacation and decided to take a trek out to Target to finally see the Loomstate Collection.  I didn't snag anything, maybe because I took so long getting there, but I did finally find a bag for my laptop.  I got a  17" Apple Macbook Pro for Christmas and have had the hardest time finding a cute, stylish bag to hold my computer.  If anyone has this computer, you have probably been in the same situation I am.  Its no fun.  Anywhore, behold my new bag:

I love love love all these designer collaborations. And I love that Target keeps expanding the collections to other items besides clothes.  If only Marc or Zac Posen could do one. Imagine Zac Posen for Target Evening Wear.  I think I would die, I just don't know if that would be a good thing or a bad thing.

Here's a horrible/hilarious picture of me taken when I went to Amishland aka Lancaster, PA. Yes I am wearing a bonnet and I'm drinking a vodka cranberry in a Strawberry Shortcake Sippie Cup. I think to most "City Folk" the amish fascinates us, err or at least me anyway. I can't get enough of it.

Chilis.

I am making the trek to Philadelphia tomorrow morning for a much needed vacation and decided I must post before I leave. While I am going to see my friends and revisit my college years, on of my favorite things is going for THE FOOD.  I love food, and why yes I am writing this as I eat, chips and guacamole to be precise.  I have had the great pleasure of eating at some fabulous places around the world over the course of my  (short) lifetime and I thought it would be fun to share with you a few.

Note:  I have been able to go to some fabulous restaurants that are very famous over the years, but these are my old standbys.

Las Vegas: I have been to Vegas god knows how many times and have stayed in several, if not almost all of the big hotels there.  My favorite places to eat are the pizza shop in the New York, New York Hotel and Olives in The Bellagio.  My step-father swears that the steak house at Circus Circus has the best steak he has ever eaten.  But that could have been the drugs and the rock and roll lifestyle he used to have talking.
Olives.  The patio is the place to eat if you can wait long enough.

Nashville:  I grew up here so I have many many favorites.  I don't think I could live without my meat and three or my morning biscuits.  Loveless Cafe is THE place to go.  You may of heard of the biscuit lady, and yes she does cook the biscuits.  I can honestly say I have met my fair share of Celebs in life and when I met her I acted like a 10 year old who was meeting the Jobros. haha.  If I ever get married and have an actual wedding, this will be where the food is from.  It is heaven.

New York:  The city for food.  I can say when you are a foodaholic like me it is very sad and hard to have to live off of PB&J.  You will often find me at Carmine's, Rosa Mexicana, Lupa or Famous Ray's.   Now thats THE Famous Ray's...not that chain you can find all over.  When I was interning a few summer's ago at a magazine in Hearst Tower we would take our sad selves over to Cancun  Mexican Restaurant on 8th Ave.  They did have some pretty good margarita's and a busy after work crowd.

Rosa Mexicana Pomegranate Margs and Famous Guacamole
Cancun Crew.

Philadelphia: GENO'S!!!!!!!!! Ok, now that that is out of the way I can move onto my other favorite, The Continental Midtown.  Continental is one of the famous Stephan Starr restaurants and has amazing Tapas and Drinks.  I can honestly suggest any of his restaurants because they are all banging, but Continental has my heart.

If this seems like a popular blog post I'll update it with other cities and other restaurants.   If I keep going this will be a really really long post.

Ice Ice Baby

I thought it would be fun to start a weekly, monthly, randomly updated quote post about what other's are obsessed with.  Kind of like my Playlist Of The Moment.  The first comes from one of my favorites, Drew Barrymore.  I have no idea where she said it but I think it is hilarious.

PS: Did anyone watch Grey Gardens this past weekend? How fabulous was that?  The Clothes, the acting. AMAZING.

Just Press Play.

Its been a few months since I created the first Borderline Obsessed playlist and I thought it was time for a new one.  Most of songs aren't new, in fact you probably have a few on your playlist, they are just songs that I've been listening to lately.  If you find a new song or artist, awesome.  If you hear a song you haven't heard in a while, Even better.  There is so much music out in the world and sometimes you have to take  moment to rediscover old favorites.   Let me know if anything catches your eyes or ears. HA. So cheesetastic. Happy Listening!

PS: Some of the songs only play for 30 seconds and I can't figure out why.  If you have any idea's let me know!

Dead Mau Five

A couple of weeks ago a few friends of mine dragged me to see a Deadmau5 show.  Thats pronounced Dead Mouse for those of you who have never heard of him.  Having never heard of him myself, I was going on the off chance I'd see my flavor of the month, who I heard was going to the show as well. Why yes I am still in High School.  Not only is he an excellent DJ, but the whole experience was hilarious.  There were the ravers with glow sticks, college american apparel hipsters, AF frat boys and my personal favorite,WWE wrestling fans. (Someone got the bright idea to make this an after party for an event).  If you haven't heard of Deadmau5, at least give him a listen, if only because he looks like this when he plays:

Sun, Sun, Sun, Here It Comes.

My name is Borderline Obsessed and I am obsessed with sunglasses.  I have 7 pairs at the moment.  To some that may not be that many, to others you may be shocked.  The only problem I have is that I lose or break them easily, so I don't own a pair that costs more then $20.  I'm actually fine with that though, after all who needs to spend $200 plus on a pair of sunglasses in this economy? Not me.

From Left to Right: Calvin Klein, Claire's, Amazon.com, Forever 21, Target

I couldn't find my 7th pair... maybe that's a sign I have too many?  They are a pair of vintage Wayfarers from the early 80s. I found them in my Step Fathers tool chest and had them cleaned up for my own personal use.

Show Me The Money.

Ok I know I promised LAST week that I was back from the dead, but I lied.  About an hour after I posted my last blog entry I received word that a close friend of mine had passed away from a drug overdose.  So for the past week and a half I have been in a prescription drug/alcohol induced coma (I know, I know).  Thanks to my friends, an intervention and shopping addiction I am officially out of my funk.  My purchases seem a bit scattered, much like my wardrobe, but I love them all.  I'm off to get my latest obsession, Stir-Up Pants.  Told you I have an unhealthy obsession with anything 90s.
