Just Press Play.

Its been a few months since I created the first Borderline Obsessed playlist and I thought it was time for a new one.  Most of songs aren't new, in fact you probably have a few on your playlist, they are just songs that I've been listening to lately.  If you find a new song or artist, awesome.  If you hear a song you haven't heard in a while, Even better.  There is so much music out in the world and sometimes you have to take  moment to rediscover old favorites.   Let me know if anything catches your eyes or ears. HA. So cheesetastic. Happy Listening!

PS: Some of the songs only play for 30 seconds and I can't figure out why.  If you have any idea's let me know!

Dead Mau Five

A couple of weeks ago a few friends of mine dragged me to see a Deadmau5 show.  Thats pronounced Dead Mouse for those of you who have never heard of him.  Having never heard of him myself, I was going on the off chance I'd see my flavor of the month, who I heard was going to the show as well. Why yes I am still in High School.  Not only is he an excellent DJ, but the whole experience was hilarious.  There were the ravers with glow sticks, college american apparel hipsters, AF frat boys and my personal favorite,WWE wrestling fans. (Someone got the bright idea to make this an after party for an event).  If you haven't heard of Deadmau5, at least give him a listen, if only because he looks like this when he plays:

Back From The Dead.

Sorry I haven't posted in ages.  I have had to take on another job thanks to this economy (err or spending habits).  I discovered The Teenagers thanks to the Gossip Girl Soundtrack and am in love with their lyrics.   The Teenagers are a European Pop Band that get under your skin.  You can't help but put the CD on repeat.  I get the same happiness listening to them as I do when I listen to I'm N Luv (Wit A Stripper) or Bossy.   Happy Listening!

Lyric Sample from "Homecoming":
Okay, listen girls, I met the hottest guy ever.
Basically as I was stepping out of SUV, I came face to face with my step cousin or whatever.
Who cares. Anyway he was wearing skinny jeans, funky hair and the cutest British accent ever.
Straight away, I can tell he was rocker from his sexy attitude and the way he looked to me.
Yumm he is totally awesome.
Oh my god I think I'm in love.

This little jem is supposed to be about Nicole Richie.

Lyrics Sample from "Fuck Nicole":
aspirins and alcohol
this is a cocktail for Nicole
fuck Nicole
is out of control
call Nicole
and fuck Nicole
alcopops and ketamine
this is a cocktail for my teen
fuck Nicole
is in my dream
that Nicole
is more then real

The Newest Music It Girl

I'm in love with swedish musician Lykke Li at the moment.  A few of you may have heard her songs but may not of known who they were by...until now.  If you are interested in hearing more, and I know you are, make sure to check out her myspace.

Here is her version of "Knocked Up" originally by Kings of Leon:

Her most famous song "I'm Good, I'm Gone":

And finally one of my personal favorites "Tonight":

Happy Valentines Day!

Here are two of my favorite songs that get me right in the gut every time I here them. They may not be the typical love songs but hey love is not perfect. (Wow when did I become a hallmark card?).

Playlist Of The Week

Usually every few days I find a band, artist or song that I become obsessed with.  I put the song or CD on repeat and won't stop listening to it until I find something new.  Currently I have been listening to the likes of White Lies, Fujiya and Miyagi, and because I have decided it is officially Spring (even if the weather says otherwise) Simon & Garfunkel.  I try to combine some of my old favorites in with my Hot Band Of The Week, as I call it. I have put together a mix for the rest of the week that you will soon become borderline obsessed with.
